Information we collect
Word lookup requests: When you request a definition, we send the
word and its language to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate the response.
We do not include account identifiers because Ousia does not require sign‑in.
App attestation data: We store integrity and security signals to
protect the service and prevent abuse.
Server logs: We keep basic logs (such as timestamps, request metadata,
and IP address) for debugging, security, and performance monitoring.
Apple diagnostics: Apple may collect crash or performance diagnostics
and provide aggregated reports to us.
On‑device data: Your saved vocabulary and learning data stays on your
device. If iCloud is enabled, Apple may sync this data via your iCloud account.
How we use information
We use the word and language you submit to return definitions, conjugations, and
related details. App attestation and server logs help us secure the service, detect
abuse, and diagnose issues. Apple diagnostics help improve stability and reliability.
Data sharing
We share request data with Google Gemini to fulfill your definition requests. Our
server infrastructure is hosted with Cloudflare. Apple provides iCloud sync and crash
diagnostics where enabled. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising
or cross‑app tracking.

Data retention
Word requests are processed to generate results. Server logs and app attestation data
are retained for troubleshooting and security for up to 3 days. Apple’s diagnostic
retention follows Apple’s policies.

Your choices & rights
You can export your vocabulary data from within the app. You can delete local data by
removing the app. If iCloud is enabled, you can manage data from iOS and iCloud
settings. Depending on your region, you may request access, deletion, or correction by
contacting us.

International users
Ousia is available worldwide. Your data may be processed in countries outside your
own, and we rely on appropriate safeguards where required by law.
Children
Ousia is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We do
not knowingly collect data from children.
