The App is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or sell personal data. No user accounts are required to use the App.

Information We Process

Text Recognition (Images)

• Images selected by the user are processed only on the device to detect text.
• Images are not uploaded to any server.
• Images are not stored on the device or elsewhere.
• Images are deleted immediately after text detection is completed.

Word Lookup & Translation Requests

When a user looks up or translates a word:

• The App sends only:
  • The word being looked up or translated
  • A small number of surrounding words to provide textual context
• No personal or user-identifiable information is sent.

This data is sent to:

• A private backend operated by the App developer
• A third-party AI provider (such as OpenAI or Google Gemini) for processing

Third-Party AI Providers

• Third-party AI providers receive only the word and surrounding text context.
• They do not receive:
  • Names
  • Email addresses
  • Account identifiers
  • Device identifiers
  • iCloud information
• The App does not share any information that can identify a user.

AI responses are used solely to generate definitions or translations requested by the user.

Logs & Diagnostics

• Limited technical logs may be collected to diagnose errors and improve app reliability.
• Logs:
  • Do not contain personal or user-identifiable information
  • Are retained for up to 3 days
  • Are automatically deleted after that period

Data Storage

Vocabulary Data

• The App does not use user accounts.
• Vocabulary lists are stored:
  • In the user's iCloud account, if iCloud is enabled
  • Only on the device, if iCloud is not enabled
• The App developer cannot access this data.

If a user is not signed in to iCloud:

• Data is stored locally on the device
• Data may be lost if the app or device data is reset

Data Sharing

• Data is not sold to third parties.
• Data is shared only for:
  • AI processing requested by the user
  • Limited debugging and reliability purposes

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your data. Because the App does not store personal data, most requests can be satisfied by deleting the app or disabling iCloud backup.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. Updates will be reflected within the App or on the App Store listing.
